Gusto di Vita - Tradename use

Since 2001, we have operated several successful drive-thru coffee businesses in the north-central Virginia region.

The name Gusto di Vita (Goo-stow deeVee-tah, "The Flavor of Life") has come to mean consistently superb quality coffee, espresso and frappes served by a friendly and efficient staff to those who know us. We are committed to ensuring that our name continues to define the very best in quality and service.

When you purchase a Gusto di Vita 'biz-pod,' you can take advantage of our superb reputation by operating under our name. Use of our name and logo is contingent upon just three simple requirements:

1. First, you need to purchase a fully-equipped Gusto di Vita kiosk. We may also allow our name to be used in a sit-down cafe, if you purchase certain equipment and signage from us - contact us if that's your interest.

2. You need to sign an agreement with us to purchase certain key products and supplies directly from our suppliers or (in the case of a few exclusive products) directly from us. You must also agree not to sell any similar or competing products under our trade name, nor to sell any competing products from your establishment or any other establishment you own. This is to ensure consistency - that the Gusto di Vita name will continue to stand for the same great coffee. See Buying Products for additional details.

3. The licensing requirement will also require you to pay a license fee at the end of each year equal to 1% of that year's gross sales.

Of course, if you just want to purchase a kiosk from us but do not wish to use our name, that's fine too. You can only purchase products from us if you choose to operate under our name though.

We are not a franchise. Even if you choose to operate under our name, this will be your own business and you will be free to operate it as you need to to insure its success (subject only to those conditions of our basic agreement as mentioned above). That's just our business philosophy - we believe that the freedom to build your own business in your own way and in response to the competition of your unique business environment will be a better guarantee of your success than any list of rules we could write for you.
